Irrespective of where you live, Men are more likely to suffer from serious health problems than their Female counterparts. Discussing Men's Health and Preventative Health is important to reduce the risk of chronic illness and disease. At Ocean Medical Practice, our Bondi doctors recommend:
  1. Regular Health Check-Ups: Men are less likely to visit their doctors compared to Females for regular check-ups to detect potential health problems early on, and receive appropriate treatment. Our Male and Female Doctors on Bondi Road offer tailored health check-ups and other medical services. In addition to a physical examination, Blood Pressure Check, Skin Cancer Check, our GPs are able to recommend Blood Testing as part of a general health check, checking for Diabetes, Prostate Cancer Screening, and Stool testing for Bowel Cancer Screening.
  2. Exercise: It is important to maintain regular physical activity to maintain cardiovascular health and prevent chronic diseases. Bondi and Bondi Beach offer many opportunities for men to engage in indoor and outdoor physical activity, such as surfing, swimming, jogging, or taking part in group fitness classes. It is important to be sun smart when exercising outdoors and arrange a Skin Cancer check and prevent skin cancer and melanoma.
  3. Healthy Eating: Maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet is important for maintaining good health. There are many healthy food options in Bondi and Bondi Beach, including fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. At Ocean Medical, our dietitian can also help you improve your diet and tailor your diet to meet your weight and lifestyle goals.

  6. Manage Stress: Men are more likely to ignore their Mental Health Stresses than Women. This can have a significant health impact, increasing the risk of depression, anxiety, and heart disease. Stress can be managed through exercise, meditation, spending time with friends and family, and other lifestyle practices such as self-reflection. Consider speaking to one of our Bondi Doctors if you are finding that the stress is becoming less manageable, for example you are becoming irritable or short tempered, your appetite is reduced, your sleep is impacted, your are over-thinking, or no longer finding pleasure in activities that were previously enjoyable.
